Amin Rupal Farista

Amin Farista, a passionate fashion designer from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, has been working exclusively with handwoven Khadi for over 18 years. Through his label Gandhian Fab, he reimagines Khadi for modern audiences, transforming it into fashionable, youthful, and globally relevant attire. For Amin, Khadi is not just fabric—it is a living expression of India’s heritage, handmade with emotion, patience, and craftsmanship.

His designs reflect a vibrant fusion of traditional techniques and contemporary aesthetics, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Amin has pioneered botanical eco-printing with natural dyes, creating luxurious Khadi blends with soft, mul-like finishes. His collections have been featured at major fashion events such as Bangalore Fashion Week, India Beach Fashion Week, Pune Fashion Week, and international showcases in Dubai and Singapore. He has received several accolades, including “Finest Designer of the Year” and “Best Use of Traditional Indian Textiles in Indo-Western Wear.”

Committed to preserving India’s rich textile legacy, Amin actively promotes artisan communities and aims to bring Khadi into mainstream fashion. His vision—captured in his mottos “Khadi in Mall” and “Khadi is Young and for the Young”—is to make Khadi a symbol of pride, style, and sustainability for future generations.
